Suicide City isn’t exactly easy on the ears. That’s okay; that’s not their intention. Hardcore metal isn’t supposed to sound like Mel Torme. Their five-track EP, Not My Year, is bursting with raucous angst, as vocalist and guitarist Billy Graziadei screams his lungs out like a banshee warrior.

The playing is fast and furious but the band members are up to the task without having to compromise musicianship. Most songs on the EP have a melodic moment or two giving Graziadei a chance to breath and listeners’ eardrums a chance to recuperate. If heavy metal is your thing, then Suicide City is ready to rock your world.

Favorite Track: Track 5, “Diamonds ”
