This Is Where It Begins
A Dare Productions
do have initial impressions of this album, but I don’t
want to start with those. I want to first let
you know that this album will remind you of the 80’s. There
are some newer sounds in this, but it’s otherwise a very
electro-groove/pop/new R&B album. This is a well-written
album. From a production and studio performance aspect, I
will say the vocals needs to be “tweaked” and fine-tuned.
In track 5 there is a sound that is used that is very ear
piercing – actually painful to listen to.
Now, out of the entire album, track 3 and 7 touch on some
true electronica and should be considered in other applications.
Plus, I don’t believe they fit with the ballads very well.
I dig the electro stuff – Aderrick pulls that off very well!
Track 8 delivers a very cool slow durge-style intro and moves
into a nice steady down-beat groove. The final track takes
you back to the 80’s dance. This is a fun album to listen
to. I would visit his website for sure, and see what kind
of new stuff he comes out with. He has a ways to go, and
needs to settle into more of a definitive style characteristic.
Otherwise, this is a very creative album.
Track: 3, “What You Want.”
