Okay. Where do I start? Masterpiece? This is incredible! Once again deceived by initial perception! This is a fat (phat? – or both) album of MIDI instrumentals, all original that resemble the styles of progressive rock, and deliver sounds recognizable from past artists such as Rick Wakeman’s “Journey to the Center Of the Earth.” Any regular MIDI user will recognize the enormous sounds that we are all use to hearing, and choosing not to use, because of the same reason! Well, here, Ruslan takes these sounds, and his ability as a drummer, songwriter, composer, and schooled musician, and creates an incredible compilation of songs that will make your jaw drop.

After visiting his website I understood more about his background, and where he was coming from. For this particular case, it helped me in reviewing and listing to the album. I would recommend getting a hold of this album. If for no other reason, it will make you realize all of the ways you can use GM tones! You will hear a broad range of styles from classical, rock, jazz, and what is probably similar to the typical styles of music he grew up with.
