A good busy night and some new faces !!

Tonights Jam brought to mind the phrases 'rough and smooth' and 'swings and roundabouts'! A few people felt a tad unhappy that songs weren`t coming together as they wished. This was down to people not knowing the numbers or perhaps 'leaders' not consulting the other players to ensure they actually know the tunes before starting them.

Chip Chippendale raised his hand for a butt kicking after
'songus interuptus', his premature ending of 'Key to The Highway' as Johnny G was about to launch into an extended and no doubt blistering solo.
We try to prevent eliteism and egos to bite and usually we manage this. After all it`s just a jam session not a show case ... we all had a laugh anyway !!

Mario felt the night was leaning a bit 'rockwise' and pointed out the lack of blues shuffles so please bear in mind drummers have feelings and opinions and are not just for christmas!

Matt also questioned the need to produce cover versions of songs and expressed a belief that true jamming is the exploration of generic blues structures, feels and grooves by improvisation and interplay between players !!! Gulp!

Also lets be 'gob-iron-ist' friendly as newbie, the excellent, Jez should`ve had more of a go at a blooze jam night! We look forward to his return as well as seeing the other newbies and regulars alike.
