The house band got the evening off to a rousing start with a couple of instrumental jams, the first a jazzy affair in B, followed by a rockier number in A. Tone Doctor Matt had been weaving his magic on Justin’s amp to great effect (hope you wrote those settings down Justin!)

The House Band were then joined by Heather – still suffering the after effects from a trip to the dentist, nevertheless giving a great rendition of Stormy Monday.

Next up were Chris P (vox, gtr), Mario (drums), Jonny C (Gtr), and Pete (Bass). They started with Ain’t No Sunshine, after which Pete promptly snapped a bass string - technical hitch number 1 of the night! A quick change to Tony M’s bass and then into Hey Joe. The last number – meant to be a version of Walter Trout’s Tired of Sleeping Alone – well let’s just say it wasn’t! Note to Chris – when you call a song in C, try playing it in … C (that’s 2 frets up from Bb!)

Time for a turnround and we were treated to Heather (vox), Paul (bass), Justin (Gtr), Simon (Drums) and Tony S (Harp). Hoochie Coochie Man (sorry Girl) was followed by Love Me Like a Man featuring some great soloing from Justin and Stevie. Suitably mellowed by the slow bluesy mood, we were then launched into Led Zep’s Rock and Roll which somehow morphed into Johnny B. Goode.

Time to slow down again. Up next was Jake (vox, acoustic gtr, harp) who performed 3 of his own compositions – Give Me Some Truth, Who’s Gonna Tie Your Laces When I Go and Open Up Your Heart Again, despite a problem with his harp which needed to be swapped mid set – technical hitch number 2 of the night. Inevitable comparisons to Bob Dylan and received to great acclaim.

Back from Greenwich Village and time to get up the powerhouse that is ….. Big Dave! Dave (vox) was joined by Mario (drums), Rich (bass), Jonny G (gtr) and Justin (gtr) giving us a great performance of Tore Down.

Jonny G took over vocals and gave us his signature tune I Shot the Sherriff – Eric Clapton eat your heart out!

To round off the night Dave (vox) was accompanied by Gaz (drums), Tony M (bass), Matt (gtr) and Chris (gtr) and sang Stand Around Crying – the voice standing up well after a bout of ‘flu.
