Everything was set up and ready early for tonight’s session so there was some prior-jam, pre-jam, jamming going on following the sound check. This started with Mario (drms) , Matt (gtr) and TonyM (bass) noodling around a jazzy shuffle with Tony S on harp. Then Johnny C (gtr), Matt (gtr) and Pete (drums) played a few turnarounds of Zep’s ‘Lemon Song’ with Tony M (bass) and continued with some riffing to Free’s ‘The Stealer’. A boogie in A followed.

Tonight’s House Band Matt (gtr) TonyM (bass) Mario (drums) Tony S (harp) then started there three numbers at around 9pm. Firstly an instrumental blues shuffle developed with some fine interplay between Matt and Tony S. For the second tune Heather (vocal) joined the group for ‘Let The Good Times Roll’. Dave (gtr + slide) stepped up at short notice for the third tune ‘Stormy Monday’.

The second group consisted of Dave (gtr + slide) Tony (Vocal,Gtr), Evan on drums with Russ on bass. They gave us ‘Crossroads’, ‘Thrill Is Gone’
and ‘Red House’.

Next up was a rehearsal for band ‘Cold Shot’ (see gig guide) comprising of
Chris P (vocals, gtr), Matt (gtr), Mario (drums), Pete (bass). They performed ‘Old Love’, ‘You Do Something To Me’ and ‘Sympathy For The Devil’

The fourth outfit to grace the stage area tonight consisted of Heather (vocal),
Stevie (gtr, vocal), Tony S (harp), Gaz (drums), Johnny C (gtr), Paul on bass. They performed ‘Summertime’ and ‘Knockin’ on Heavens Door’ sang by Stevie.

Jonny G, (gtr, vocal), Justin (gtr), Richard (bass), Evan (drums) performed ‘Crosscut Saw’, ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ with Loz on harp, followed by ‘Cocaine’.

Heather (vocs), Stevie (gtr), Tony M (bass), Gary (drums), Mario (harp), Russ (gtr), a last minute change to the line up, performed ‘Got My Mojo Workin’.

It was great to once again see Paradise Sally, on vocals, leading the band through the rip-roaring finale ‘Mustang Sally’.
