Another pre-jam jam occurred after the gear was set up. There was some space age jamming between Matt (guitar) and Tony M (bass) with Pete on drums this fizzled out. Matt, seated, then started a very slow blues and Richard joined in on bass with Pete on drums who was replaced eventually by Dougie. Justin joined in on guitar as the tune eventually progressed into an instrumental Stormy Monday.

The first band to kick off comprised Heather (vocal), Matt (guitar), Justin (guitar), Pete (bass), Mario (drums), Tony Stokes (harp). They did ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’ then ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ then ‘Stormy Monday’ Matt was back to the original Gibson humbuckers on his LP and was notably ‘ready to rock’. Some tasty harp playing from Tony Stokes.

Jonny G (guitar, vocals) Justin (guitar) Richard (bass) Dougie (drums). They did ‘Key To The Highway’, ‘Little Queen of Spades’, ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ during which Jonny was a little unforgiving of Dougie’s interpretation of this latter tune. Tony S also joined in on harp. Jonny was using his thin-line Telecaster, though it seemed to quite prone feedback.

Next Steve Cash (vocal) Matt (guitar) Jonny G (guitar) Evan (drums) and Graham (bass). First they did Badge. Matt got confused and screwed up the solo badly ! Jonny G took over thankfully. Then Matt, having recovered, together with Johnny tore up their respective fretboards with some hardcore guitar intercourse. A dazzling, display of dexterity in D. Somebody wrote the following on the review sheet “Matt was shit ! (at last!) then recovered – the bastard !”. this was followed by a rocking version of ‘Crossroads’ with more guitar duelling. ‘Red House’ finished this set.

Chris P (vocal, guitar), Paul McD (bass), Justin (guitar), Gordon (drums) performed A slow blues in C, apologies track name not recorded in the notes, ‘Old Love’ and ‘Sympathy For The Devil’.

Next was ‘Shaky Stu’ (vocal, harp) Tony M (bass) Gaz (drums) Chris P (guitar) Justin (guitar) performed a song whose title was not recorded on the review sheet for which we apologise a second time.

The final performance of the evening was given by Steve Cash (vocal), Tony M (bass) Chris P (guitar) Matt (guitar) Tony S (harp). ‘Farther on up the Road’ was left ringing in everybody’s ears! ...
