Pre jam noodling all (instrumental) from Matt, Maz and Tony included a rendition of Floyd’s Breath in The Air with some chord shouting! Matt and Mario took on their passion for a blues shuffle and were joined by Pete on bass and John C on guitar. This was followed by a slow blues instrumental where Pete played the drums and some nice bass playing by Paul McD augmented some extended guitar soloing by Matt.
To get started (as if they hadn’t jammed enough already) the house band’s first number was jammed in A. Heather then joined the stage for a nicely paced version of ‘Keys To The Highway’. This was followed by ’Cocaine’. Evan (drums) Tony M (Bass) Tony R (guitar and vocals) Dave (guitar, nice Les Paul !). performed ‘Need Your Love So Bad’. Paul McD took over on Bass and the group performed ‘Crossroads’. Next they performed ‘Red House’ where Dave sang and also Geeza joined in on keys. Next up were Dougie (drums) Stevie (guitar and vocals) Pete (bass) John C (guitar). ‘Livin’ In The World Of The Common People’. ‘Proud Mary’ more to Dougie’s liking. ‘Midnight Hour’ saw Pete digging into the groove slapping and soloing. Next an acoustic interlude. Jake (guitar vocal) Maz (drums) with Phil (bass). We will rely on Jake to tell us what he played, which was great, in his inimitable fashion. Next up Geeza (harp, keys, vocals) Heather (vocal) Jonny G (guitar) Rich (bass) Jase (drums) ‘Mojo’ with Geez blowin on harp ‘Let The Good Times Roll’ with Geez banging some boogie woogie on the pee anna. ‘Hoochie Coochie Gal’ was very tight with a nice solo from Jonny G & nice T-shirt ! Next up was Big John (vocs) Dave (guitar) Tony R (guitar) Paul (bass) Dougie (drums) and Tony S (harp) ‘Fulsom Prison Blues’ much whoopin’ and hollarin’ followed ! Lastly we had Russ (bass) Lee (gtr) and Jonny G that is 75% of the ‘Durty Socks’ with Maz (drums) and Heather (vocs) they performed ‘Superstition’ and finished up with ‘Mustang Sally’. All in all an excellent night of good and varied performances with many different songs to the usual repertoire. Well done everyone ! |
