Ian was born & brought up in the North of England. His voice is full of "true Yorkshire grit" & has been likened to that of Joe Cocker's.
He started his career as lead vocalist & keyboard player for the northern soul band, The Inner Circle, which evolved into The Inner Mind ("the greatest white reggae band in the world" according to the famous Appollo Club in London). As a solo artist, he recorded for several labels including KR Records (distributed by RCA) & in 1993 released his ground-breaking country crossover album, "Ebony Nights, Ivory Towers", produced by Bobbysox Music. To mark the 10th anniversary of its release, the album has been reissued for sale exclusively from CDBaby.com. Ian is also putting the finishing touches to his latest album, "Another Saturday Night & Still Only Tuesday", which follows the country crossover feel with songs like the self penned, "Long Way To Nashville" & the (almost) title track, "Always Be Saturday Night" courtesy of Bobbysox Music. |
