Truth or Just Fan Fiction?
The original Dreynians were a musical civilization content in staying home all the time honing their craft, practising rockstar poses, playing air guitar, but soon they realized they could not get better without other interaction, and their civilization and culture would not revolve further so they got up and started taking walks. At first just to the corner and back but soon some dreynians began to go away for the weekend, leaving late Friday, or Saturday morning and coming back Sunday. They soon took great delight in describing their musical adventures using simple rhythmic forms.
They travelled all around and did exhaustive studies on differant musical idioms and cultures, playing with the tribes in Cairo and the Tibetan monks in India, and so on... They embellished their songs with country licks, roots music, r&b, soul, rock, world music until it evolved into what is now know as the Dreyne sound.
But as the Dreynians furthered their search, for their musical muse they found themselves the object of interest among lesser developed species-Bar owners, recording executives, A&R men. For the Dreynians who had just learn't to cope with wives, one eyed drunk roadies, out of time doped up drummers, it was a blow from which many have not recovered. They became Amway salesmen or TV salespersons.
But a tiny handfull of them survived and still they play the music past down from songs played gathered round the campfire, in livingrooms, and basements. Songs about the creative spirit, hope and harmony, capturing the elusive Dreyne sound.
