Nurse
Nurse's music first came to my attention in about May this year (2005). It was cool to hear a band that had got themselves together to a point they had a finished product. I would have bought the CD but infact Stuart (singer/guitarist) gave it to me quite generously. Complete with a barcode it now sits between Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails in my record collection. Nurse's sound however is far more like Muse with vocals from Feeder. You can check them out following the link beneath:

Headtrauma
It's rare to have a five piece old skool metal band nowadays, but Headtrauma's recent gig at the 2pigs brought a positive feedback from the other bands playing with them and the crowd in general.

Headtrauma is one of metal-militia.co.uk's many bands (a collective of bands that help eachother out). It's also one of the newest.

Singer George Page (from the history referencing Eidelweiss Pirates), guitarist Tom Vincenet (also a member of Subconscious Dream), guitarist Bert Hicks, bassist James Pierce (Obsidian as well) and drummer Dan Lee (guitarist in Bad Seed and Overhead) make up the band.

With the experiance of so many different bands coming into one idea the results are interesting and straddle the retro/original tag.

Athufaena's Puzzle
Athufaena's Puzzle have a crazy sound somewhere between a Tool record being mixed with Billie Holiday's vocals.

Only Love and Bumble Bee are fine examples of how to write a song. Lyrics are clever and the music is syncopated with a danceable beat.

Definately a band worth seeing, unfortunately live shows are rare but look forward to Oct 14th at the Pig Inn the City, Gloucester.
The Divine Secret
The Divine Secret are a three piece rock band from Cheltenham.

Members are Joe Green (vocals/guitar), Barney Barnfield (bass) and Ben Newham (drums).

Their music is a mixture between A Perfect Cirlce and Radiohead, with soaring vocals and aggressive guitar lines.

For a young band the maturity of the songs is a noteable plus point.

With a dedicated local following it's worth while checking out their tunes on the following links:
