I’ll make a pun.
Irritant are safe to handle, but dangerous in large doses. And you should probably have a bath if you’re exposed to it for too long. In fact, take a bath anyway because if you’re reading this you’ve probably been on the internet for a week straight and need it. The first track on their self titled E.P. (which I’m told has shifted 500 units nationwide, not bad for a bunch of 17 year olds) is a bit early Mettallica. There’s thrash elements that most people would like, and I can dig it. The first song has a nice twist to hear a guy singing normally over heavy music. But to be honest it’s not something I’d listen to everyday cause it drags a bit. Songwriting isn’t the strong point. Calling For the End is pretty similar. From the first two tracks alone you could see this band have a massive potential, but it's not yet matured. Then comes From the Graveyard with a completely different style. What the fuck is this? Gothy white boys with a groove? Nice. It sounds sexy like that Led Zeppelin song “Hey fellas, have you heard the news…” and the vocals have a very fragile sound to them which is kinda heart warming. Unfortunately they don’t pull the hook out enough, but it’s still something with a mass appeal lacking from the first two tracks. Dreams (live and wasted) is cool. It’s like Mettallica doing that S&M set. Originally I wanted to use this for the Corinium Calling record, but then I decided on From The Graveyard because I thought that would captivate the Goth demographic when they’re reading the titles in record stores. I’m joking! Their not all stereotypes. If they're feeling adventerous it's been known for Goths to mix it up with a bit of brown and purple! For the price it’s sold for, you can’t get any better. They’re soon to be headlining a self financed show at the Guildhall in Gloucester on Nov 4th, you should go. Morph will be supporting and they’re a great live band, tickets are available from the box office and you can contact them by dialing 118 500. Cheers. |
