Put on Philadelphia-based Leiana’s album, Page, and stand back. It’s a blistering 13-track debut of polished, energetic skate punk that should connect even with those who don’t don helmets or elbow pads. Just as long as they like music that packs a punch. In addition to Leiana’s sultry vocals, music veteran Chuck Treece (Bad Brains, Urge Overkill) produced and co-wrote the album, and performs sizzling guitar leads throughout.

While the amps often crank to eleven like the band’s the second coming of Jane’s Addiction, tunes like “All Over” and “Miss Ya” provide some breathing room. The album sounds great thanks to a quality production, and Leiana’s hypnotic vocals and Treece’s riveting guitar make an indelible imprint by album’s end.

Favorite Track: Track 11, “Dirty Car”
