The JodyJazz Classic Series Clarinet Mouthpiece offers a range of facing that are ideal for both classical and jazz. Facings from two to four are best for classical and orchestral music. A number two facing is roughly equivalent to a Vandoren 5RV, and a four facing is comparable to a B45. To achieve a larger sound with more projection for jazz music, facings five to seven are optimal. A facing seven is close to a Vandoren 5JB.

The Classic is made of a polycarbonate with a hard rubber mix which is far more expensive than traditional hard rubber. This material helps the Classic create a tone characterized as deep, dark and woody with a centered sound. A patented removable baffle, called a spoiler, can be used when more volume is needed.
