Percussion instructor
On the collegiate level, he has been the percussion instructor for the USC Trojan Marching Band, and has served as the Assistant Director of University Bands at the University of North Carolina in the past.

He is also the author of "Savage Rudimental Workshop", a snare drum book published by Warner Bros. Music, and is heavily involved with indoor percussion as a clinician an adjudicator of Winter Guard International.
