Magix Sequoia 11 music composition software is purely native PC software and therefore independent of

Magix Sequoia is capable of using
multi-track projects to burn Red Book compatible master CDs. These CDs may even feature copy protection, UPC/EAN, ISRC codes,
pre-emphasis, and CD text. Formats for transferring the project to the vinyl press include DDP or wave export including cue
list. For post-production, the option to use the audio input from the sound card for synchronizing Sequoia with the local

Source/Destination Editing
Sequoia music composition software includes a professional 4-point editing function. The method is especially effective and
intuitive, since it connects the advantages of a linear audio editing studio with those of a non-linear hard disk system.
Two
display areas let you view and play back source and destination tracks simultaneously and independently of each other. The
lower area of the screen (source) displays the source material, i.e. all of the recorded material and takes.
The upper
area displays the target tracks (destination). The cut material is arranged here with the mouse or keyboard. You always retain
control of the whole project by being able to navigate in the source material while playback is running in the destination
area. The actual audio editing takes place via markers. In and out markers in the source indicate the material that should
be copied into the destination after a cut command.
This method may be used to quickly realize steps that would otherwise
be very time-consuming, e.g. replacement of a passage in a finished multi-track edit with a version that may be played slightly
longer. For source/destination, only in/out markers in the source and destination. The edit command inserts the correct passage
and moves the remaining audio material synchronously across all tracks to the new edges of the cut.
Advanced
crossfade editor
The crossfade editor controls every parameter of a crossfade. All crossfades are calculated in real time, i.e. changes to
a crossfade are immediate and may be played back without and intermediate saving or waiting time. The keyboard and menu commands
for operating the crossfade editor may be configured freely and enable users to work however they prefer. For example, fade
curves and lengths can be changed, different playback commands may be applied to the positions of the fades in the audio material
in order to evaluate transitions as a best as possible, to quickly compare fade variations via snapshots.
A special
advantage of this is that the unused material may also be viewed to the left or right of the crossfade, and that it may also
be listened to as required. This enables extremely precise adjustments to be made to the edit point and the transition.
Multi-synchronus
cut
Multi-Synchronous cutting, i.e. MuSyC, completes and supports the conventional method of editing an audio recording, especially
for classical music. Imagine MuSyC as an assistant for the editing process. You may work normally with the Source Destination
Cut, but the functions of the MuSyC system are available at any time.
The goal of MuSyC is to minimize time spent searching
for similar passages of music, thereby accelerating the audio editing process. MuSyC enhances working with source and destination
projects with an overview project. If a passage of music has been recorded multiple times, then these will be available in
the source as multiple takes. The overview project primarily serves for navigating in the source. Each take is represented
by its own object. Musically equal material is organized in parallel and temporally ideal. This allows takes to be switched
exactly according to the sound while an alternative recording is monitored as an overview.
If the active track (i.e.
the active take) is switched in the overview project, the playback position and the "source points" will be automatically
synchronized in the respective source project.
EuCon Protocol
MAGIX AG is delighted to announce the support of the EuCon Protocol in their High-End Digital Audio Workstation Sequoia 11
to integrate with the Professional Series of consoles and controllers designed and manufactured by Euphonix, a leader in large-format
mixing consoles, control surfaces, and peripherals for more than twenty years.
The EuCon high-speed Ethernet control
protocol allows Sequoia to be controlled from the Euphonix Pro range of consoles and controllers including the MC Pro and
System 5-MC controllers, and the S5 Fusion and the System 5 digital audio mixing systems. EuCon allows high-speed, high-resolution
control of fader, pans, plug-ins as well as access to many of the software's functions by the programmable keys on the Euphonix
control surface for fast access to functions that are used most.
DDP export
DDP stands for Disc Description Protocol and describes the structure of a file group that is used for creating CDs or DVDs.
Sequoia enables a CD project to be exported in the DDP standard. Many mastering engineers consider DDP to be superior in terms
of data and transfer security. The included MAGIX DDP Xport tool writes a DDP file in the standard 1.01 or 2.0 onto the hard
drive for online transfer to the vinyl press. All PQ and production data is transferred in this case. The integrity of your
master may be verified after writing. A DDP that has already been written may also be re-imported for editing or for reorganization.
Video
export
Videos that have been dubbed or mixed with Magix Sequoia may be exported including finished mixes as new files. Formats include
MPEG-2, DV-AVI, QuickTime MOV, and MXV with different codecs.
User management
Administrator functions in the music notation software may be used to set up different users, whereby each user may be registered
with different settings. The different users can store their own settings like keyboard shortcuts, color settings, skins,
standard folder paths, toolbars and icons, and crossfade presets.
Administrators also have the option of authorizing
or blocking specific drives for users. Magix Sequoia may also be set up so that users can change system options while they
are working, but Sequoia will open with the settings set as the standard the next time it is launched.
In order to
transfer settings from one computer to another easily, all of the settings of a Sequoia systems may be saved as a container
file. You may then determine which components should be transferred, e.g. general settings, display options and window positions,
user administration, project templates, etc. This option enables administrators who need to manage several systems to conveniently
set up a single computer and then transfer its settings to as many computers as required.
Revolver Tracks
The revolver tracks system is a type of rotation that may be used to replace various takes of a complete track behind the
defined effects, fades and track settings. Different compositions of the audio track may also be produced. Different solos
and parts may be easily switched back and forth in context, or exchanged and tested against each other in their effect in
the final mix, without making any other changes in the arrangement. You may choose at any time if you would like to add a
revolver track as a copy (e.g. for variation of effects or fades), or if you would like to create a new, empty revolver track.
The time the respective variation was added to the original track is also displayed. The revolver tracks created can be displayed
at any time in the Take Composer in a a clearly laid-out manner.
5.1 Surround
Samplitude Pro music software offers several possibilities for mixing audio material in various multi-channel formats. All
of the channels in the Surround Master may be assigned to any playback device and distributed to the existing Surround busses.
But besides tracks, objects may also be routed directly to the Surround master to work via the Surround panorama module. Existing
projects may also be mixed in the Surround format. The approach is quite easy to understand: Each audio track and every object
may be assigned via the arranger to a specific position in the Surround panorama and then enriched with presets and effects.
MIDI
Machine Control
This function is often referred to as MMC and ensures complete control of DAW's MIDI. Samplitude audio software is able to
function as MMC "Slave" or "Master": The program may be controlled remotely by external controllers or mixers with MMC support
(= Slave), or an external device of your choice may be controlled by the software (track mute, track solo, play, record, etc.)
(= Master), e.g. to actively control external hardware controllers. Of course, synchronization with a second sequencer is
possible, e.g. to enable backup recordings. In this case, one of Samplitude's functions as the master to control the second
instance of the program - from a single work area.
Docking
Manager, visualization, audio quantization, icon bars, and the time display window may now be coupled/docked with different
areas of the project interface, or freely arranged on the screen.
Track Colors
Tracks may be colored directly via the track header. These colors are then displayed in the mixer for faster orientation within
the project.
Skins & GUI Adjustments
The version of Samplitude also features an improved interface with two new skins. The darker "Camo" skin and the brighter
"Canis" skin are perfect for customizing the program's appearance.
Hybrid Audio Engine
The Hybrid Audio Engine includes a combination of a Low Latency and High Latency Engine. The Low Latency Engine reduces response
times when calculating track effects and enables Live Monitoring at lower latencies. The integrated High Latency Engine, on
the other hand, brings about more effective system utilization, which allows for the integration of sophisticated object effects,
object auxiliaries & surround functions. The Hybrid Audio Engine is based on the ASIO driver system and, thanks to its low
input/output delay at the same performance levels, optimizes the system especially when working with software instruments
and other plug-ins. The combination of the two operating styles (with latency compensation of course) is also possible. This
makes the software perfectly suitable for current requirements of the production process.
Object-oriented Editing
As well as the classic track-related editing options, Samplitude music composition software also provides object-level editing.
This provides new opportunities for mixing and sound design. The audio material may be split into any number of objects and
moved on the track freely. Every object can be edited with fades and effects, e.g. equalizer, timestretching, pitchshifting,
or VST plug-ins. Even aux sends are possible at object level. This means that the aux send is only active for this object,
making complicated automation unnecessary. The object editor offers real-time access to an object's settings.
All settings
at the object level are calculated in real-time during playback; no new files are written to the hard drive. This saves space
on the hard drive and allows settings to be changed again at any time. For example, you may discover that individual words
from a vocal track require a pitch adjustment, so you could split each word, even every syllable into a single object. Each
of these individual objects may be corrected with the real-time pitch correction function or edited in terms of volume and
panorama or with fades and crossfades. Every object even features a complete range of effects and inserts for DirectX and
VST plug-ins.
essentialFX
essentialFX provides a complete suite of new, alternative basic effects for dynamics, modulation, and other frequently used
sound processes on a single screen. A lot of attention has been paid to modern design, effective display of the individual
parameters, and as such to the simplicity of overall operation. This appearance of "understatement" conceals high-quality
algorithms developed for daily work in the studio.
sMax11
"sMax11" is a limiter/maximizer that provides must-have services for mastering tasks. Basically, the function is a hard/brick
wall limiter with input amplification. Specification of input amplification allows the loudness of the audio signal to be
increased easily. At the same time, the sMax11 ensures that the signal does not exceed the flexibly set output level. The
control at the basis of the modification may also be configured by setting the release time and a specific mode like "Hard
Clipper", "Aggressive", or "Balanced."
EQ116
The "EQ116" in Samplitude 11 music software provides a 6-band equalizer that works with either oversampling or phase-linear
algorithms. Filters on up to six freely selectable frequency bands may be activated to adjust the sound of the sample or of
an object. This also enables broadband elevations in high and bass values as well as narrowband corrections to the frequency
response to be carried out. Three different filter setups may also be selected to make settings directly during monitoring,
without loading or saving complete presets.
