For theremin lovers and electronics junkies.
This Moog theramin kit comes with everything you need to make a theramin. With the unfinished wood cabinet
and prebuilt circuit board, you'll build a theramin. Several wiring points require soldering. Power supply is included.
One
of the oldest electronic instruments, the theremin is the only one known that you play without touching. Moving your hands
in the space around its antennas controls pitch and volume. The Etherwave is an adaptation of inventor Leon Theremin's original
design.
Reproduces a 5-octave pitch range and reliable spacing between notes for sophisticated playability. Antennas
are nickel-plated 3/8" brass tube and cabinets are furniture-grade hardwood. Can be fitted with an adapter for mounting on
a standard microphone stand and is designed for use with a musical instrument amplifier.
The make-it-yourself theramin
kit comes with 2 videotapes: Clara Rockmore: the Greatest Theremin Virtuosa, which includes performances and a conversation
with the world-renowned thereminist, filmed in 1976; and Mastering the Theremin which includes 6 lessons with Lydia
Kavina, including exercises designed by Clara Rockmore. Lydia is one of the few professional thereminists in the world and
a master teacher on the instrument. This is the main resource you need for learning to play theremin or for improving your
technique.
