Peavey sub-harmonic bass processor technology in a compact phantom-powered system.
For years, many people have enjoyed the advantages of using the acclaimed Peavey Kosmos processor for
extending the bass range of a kick drum as well as other bass instruments. The Peavey Kosmos M takes the sub-harmonic bass
processor technology of the acclaimed Kosmos processor and incorporates it into a compact phantom-powered system.
The
sub-harmonic generator in the Kosmos bass processor enhances the sound of instruments by generating a copy of signals in their
bass range but shifted an octave lower. The Peavey Kosmos M places this circuitry in a phantom powered processor that can
be connected in line between a dynamic microphone and the mix console input. Because of its small size and easy operation,
the bass processor can either be located on stage or at the mix console. The mic input on the Peavey Kosmos M is designed
for high volume applications so a pad is not required.
To operate the Peavey Kosmos M bass processor, first adjust
the microphone gain so that the signal LED flashes when signal is present. The sub-harmonics knob can then be adjusted for
the desired low bass content. The sub-harmonic damping can also be adjusted. The best thing to do is just experiment and see
what sounds best to you.
