Specifically engineered to cut 100Hz boominess.
Primacoustic Australis acoustic foam bass traps are effective at controlling low frequencies which are
below the bandwidth of 3" foam.
Studio acoustics is more than covering every surface with foam. Primacoustic diffusers
and bass traps are based on long-standing studio acoustic principles, and engineered to integrate into any environment.
The
Primacoustic Australis is a high-efficiency bass trap that controls low frequency energy. Introducing Australis in a studio
will result in a tighter, more controlled bass.
Made entirely from a solid block of 100% high-density, open-cell acoustical
polyurethane foam, the Primacoustic Australis measures 12" x 36" to provide maximum absorption in the least space. The unique
wedge design allows easy placement in corners or on walls, offering tremendous flexibility to suit the most demanding architectural
tastes. For even greater bass absorption, Australis can be stacked, grouped to form a wall cluster, or placed edge-to-edge
at the wall and ceiling seam.
Australis works by trapping the random omnidirectional bass energy that tends to cluster
in corners and overwhelm the room. Quarter-wavelength calculations prove that Australis is particularly effective for rooms
with 8' ceilings that require 36" of absorptive materials to control the troublesome 100Hz region. This has the positive effect
of reducing smear, giving bass more definition and punch while allowing recordings to translate better to other rooms. One
pair, 12' W x 36 " H x 12" D each.
