A great effect to spice up your percussion table!
The odd looking and interesting sounding Quijada from Schalloch is a percussion effect that produces
a surprising sound which has been used on many recordings. Just hold the upright portion of the wire frame (loosely so you
don't hamper the vibration), then slap the wooden ball with your other hand. Inside the dark wood chamber there are many tiny
metal "teeth" that will vibrate against the wood. The sound is a loud rattling decay that last a few seconds. The Quijada
is a fun instrument to play and takes no practice at all. Try it.
