A reproduction of the classic Selmer-Maccaferri-style jazz guitar Django played.
The Gitane D-500 Maccaferri-Style Jazz Guitar has a sound you have to hear to believe. All measurements
and construction features were taken directly from a rare, original 1932 Selmer-Maccaferri guitar to create the most affordable,
high-quality reproduction ever offered. The Gitane D-500 features a top of select solid spruce with rosewood back and sides
and a thin, comfortable, bound mahogany neck with a 24-fret extension fingerboard of ebony with pearl-dot position markers.
The
large D-shaped soundhole has concentric rings of multicolored wood purfling. The body is bound with solid ebony for durability
and beauty with maple/walnut/maple purfling on all edges. The traditional Moustache bridge, also ebony, has a removable center
section that is slotted for perfect intonation. Includes Gitane hardshell case.
