Formed
in December 1998 when bassist Eugene Wong joined the band
after playing for another band Overdrive (now defunct). Doubting
Jeremiah frontman Matthew Tan had already been with the band
since August 1998. Guitarist/Songwriter Caleb Lye and Drummer
Wayne Cheong had already been jamming together for almost
2 years. The 4 members of the band are all very close friends
and have very common interests outside the studio. |

| Recordings: |
Recording
for vARnish's debut album, "Whatever You Want",
commenced in late April 1999 and was finally released on 3rd
July 1999. However, the official launch of the album was only
done on 6th August 1999 at Tower Records, Pacific Plaza with
a LIVE performance. Released in January 2000. "derailed
ep" which contains the new song "derailed"
and newly recorded version of "Song For Rebecca",
"High" and "Imaginary Friend- Spiraldream mix
with U:tama". Included in this ep as a bonus is an interview
session with Michelle Chang of Passion 99.5FM which also contains
songs from "Whatever you want". |
